So when she emerged yesterday for a low-budget shopping spree in LA looking more like an average soccer mom than international superstar, she left onlookers dead in their tracks.
Not so posh: Victoria Beckham looked unusually casual during a shopping spree in budget store Target in LA yesterday
Plain: Victoria looked far more natural than normal dressed in low-key jeans and a tee, and she even took off her trademark oversized sunglasses
The former Spice Girl swapped her trademark tightly nipped-in pencil skirts and cleavage hugging tops for a pair of flared jeans and – gasp – a sloppy grey T-shirt.
There was no designer handbag in sight as the mother of three trawled through discount store Target with son Romeo – she instead totted a red plastic basket as she made her way through the aisles.

Bargain hunter: Posh, who usually prefers exclusive boutiques, hit Target for a cheap shopping spree
Her low-key day may well be put down to a rather sore head - the night before she was spotted enjoying a late night out with friends in Hollywood, leaving a restaurant looking worse for wear at 2am.
And in another sign the self-appointed fashionista is off her game, she was wearing exactly the same grey (her favourite colour, it appears) stomach-baring outfit she wore last month.

Posh is now footloose and fancy free after wrapping her much-hyped Spice Girls reunion tour in Toronto last week.
The tour ground to a premature halt in the Canadian city, following reports the five some locked in a bitter feud and had suffered flagging ticket sales.
The 33-year-old mother quickly resumed promoting her dVb fashion line - she is expected to earn £15million from her brand, which now sells sunglasses, denim and handbags.
Double take: Posh wore her grey ensemble for the second time in a month
Meanwhile, David Beckham was swarmed by camera-carrying crowds as he arrived in China yesterday for a game against the Shanghai-Hong Kong United team on Wednesday.
After the team's swing through Asia, its regular Major League Soccer season will start at the end of March.
The Asian tour started in Korea, where Beckham was the only one of five Galaxy players to convert in a penalty shootout as the MLS outfit lost to South Korea's FC Seoul 2-1 in an exhibition game Saturday.
