Lohan laughs off rehab

ACTRESS Lindsay Lohan talked about her first stay in a rehabilitation clinic to Elle magazine, only 36 hours before her latest drink-driving arrest.

"I was growing up and going out a lot and I needed to have a balance,'' Lohan, 21, told the magazine, of her rehab stay in January.

"I was glad I went because I needed to get away from everyone and I didn't know how to do that. I learned a lot there. A bunch of my friends - I was with them last night - they're in AA for, like, years.''

On May 26, Lohan was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after her car crashed into a kerb on LA's Sunset Boulevard. She entered another clinic and was released on July 13 after a six-week stay.

Just 11 days later, Lohan was arrested in Santa Monica, north of LA, for investigation of drunken driving and possession of cocaine.

In the Elle article, Lohan's assistant Jenni Munro admits that Lohan lied about her sobriety in an earlier interview.

"I started laughing,'' Munro said. "And she says, why are you laughing? And it's because I had just texted our friends this very thing: A cab to the Mercer, $20; a room at the Mercer, $500; listening to Lindsay Lohan say she's sober? Priceless''.
