Britney Spears spotted sporting a rock
Britney Spears, at the opening of the LAX nightclub in Las Vegas' Luxor resort, sported a diamond ring on her left hand, prompting the rumor mill to churn.
Questions abound about whether she was in a new relationship, throwing the media a red herring or creating hype for her rumored comeback launch during Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards program, the Las Vegas Journal-Review reported. Observers said they thought it was probably to stir interest in her comeback.
Meanwhile, the pop diva had a falling out with singer-songwriter Ne-Yo, a Las Vegas native. In an radio interview in Los Angeles, Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer C. Smith, said things were off-kilter as far as his work on Spears' comeback album was concerned.
Smith said he wrote between six and eight songs for Spears, but lost contact with the singer and her label when she entered rehab. He said he sold several songs to Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
(When) Britney's people called and said, 'Why are you giving away Britney's songs?' ... I say, 'Uh, hold on ... y'all didn't cut me a check,' Smith said.
