Britney Spears gets driver's license

Britney Spears has received a California driver's license to comply with a court order in a child custody dispute with former husband Kevin Federline.

The DMV reports the temporary driver's license was issued late yesterday in Santa Monica. Mike Marando, deputy director of communications for the California Department of Motor Vehicles, says Spears should receive her license by mail within the next month.

Marando says the 25-year-old pop star has completed her requirements for a driver's license.

On Monday, a judge ordered Spears to temporarily surrender custody of the couple's young sons to Federline. Spears failed to produce a California driver's license.

A hearing is set for this afternoon for more custody proceedings between Spears and Federline.
