Wearing a full-length pink dress and with her hair teased up high on her head, Scary Spice proved she had mastered the quickstep, said by the judges to be one of the hardest dance routines.
"I want to show America I can be a lady. I'm going from Scary Spice to Lady Spice," Melanie Brown said before her performance.

And her efforts paid off when the judges awarded her high marks.
Both judges from the BBC version of the show, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, gave Mel eight out of a possible 10, as her husband Stephen Belafonte watched proudly from the audience.

Len said: "You held the floor beautifully," and Bruno added gushingly: "You have the twinkle-toes of Ginger Rogers. What a makeover. It worked!"
Mel, who's one of the favourites, had etiquette classes to improve her posture as she prepared for the show.
