Walking with the aid of a stick like an old lady, her face was puffy and she was said to be on a constant regime of painkillers.
But fast-forward four weeks and the Men Behaving Badly star looked a picture of health at the Ibiza Rocks music festival on Tuesday.
Back from the brink: Leslie Ash, with her husband Lee Chapman, looks tanned and healthy in Ibiza
The 48-year-old may have still had the walking stick, but she no longer appeared pale, weak and withdrawn.
Instead, Ms Ash looked tanned and healthy as she and her husband of 19 years, Lee Chapman, enjoyed themselves at the event on the Mediterranean island.
It's a dramatic turnaround for the actress, who has suffered major problems following the hospital superbug infection which led to a £5million payout.
She contracted MSSA, a strain of MRSA, while being treated for two broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Mr Chapman was arrested on suspicion of assault but released without charge when she claimed the injuries were sustained during an 'energetic' sex session.
Frail: Ms Ash looked weak and puffy-faced in Los Angeles last month
When a frail-looking Ms Ash was photographed in Los Angeles last month, she was filming an ITV documentary about bungled cosmetic surgery.
The actress was roundly ridiculed after she reacted badly to treatment in 2002. Her overly-inflated lips - the result of £300 collagen and Botox injections - led to the nickname Trout Pout.
It was in January this year that Miss Ash reached her £5million out-of-court settlement with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
