Paris is tired of media

Paris Hilton wants more privacy. The celebrity socialite has put her Los Angeles home on the market for $4.25 million.

Arguably one of the most closely watched people in the world, Hilton wants to buy a larger home in a gated community or, at least, one with a long gated driveway, according to her aunt and informal spokeswoman, Kyle Richards. Her current house measures about 3,000 square feet on a 7,000-square-foot lot, modest by Los Angeles celebrity standards.

In June, Hilton's Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Hills was the scene of an international media storm related to the 26-year-old hotel heiress' 23-day incarceration in a Los Angeles jail.

Hilton bought the four-bedroom residence in 2004 for about $2.9 million. She redecorated the interior in black and white and transformed one bedroom into a walk-in closet and another into a security control room. She made over the family room with beaded walls and added a modern audio/visual system throughout the house as well as extra security features. Built in 1926, the property includes a pool, a Jacuzzi and a waterfall.

Hilton is staying in a rental in Malibu.

Her younger sister, Nicky, 23, is moving into the neighborhood. Last month, she paid roughly $2.9 million for a home a few miles away.
